Delhi to Kasauli by road
| Distance | Driving time | Route |
|---|---|---|
| About 290 km | 6 hours | via Ambala, Zirakpur, Parwanoo and Dharampur |
Kasauli is the closest proper hill station from Delhi. We drive up the GT Road to Ambala, cross Zirakpur, start climbing at Parwanoo and turn off at Dharampur for the short pine-forest road to Kasauli. Leave Delhi after the morning rush and you are in Kasauli for a late lunch, which makes it ideal for a long weekend.
Kasauli is small, so book hotels early for long weekends. The Air Force station area has restricted entry, and some viewpoints need ID; carry it for everyone. Many Delhi families add Shimla or Chail for a third day before heading back.
Pickup in Delhi
We pick up from your home anywhere in Delhi NCR, IGI airport (T1, T2 or T3), New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station.
Arriving in Kasauli
Parts of upper Kasauli are closed to vehicles, so we drop you at your hotel or the nearest point to the Mall. Worth your time in Kasauli: Christ Church, the Mall, Sunset Point and the Gilbert Trail walk.
