Amritsar to Dalhousie by road
| Distance | Driving time | Route |
|---|---|---|
| About 190 km | 5 hours | via Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Banikhet |
From Amritsar we drive through Batala and Gurdaspur to Pathankot, then turn off for the hill road via Dunera and Banikhet up to Dalhousie. The climb starts about two hours from Amritsar. Pair it with the Wagah ceremony the evening before, and Khajjiar the morning after you arrive.
This route is the second half of the popular Amritsar, Dalhousie and Dharamshala circuit. Leaving Amritsar after breakfast lands you in Dalhousie by mid-afternoon. In winter, snow sometimes reaches Dalhousie itself, so check with us before booking January dates.
Pickup in Amritsar
We pick up from Amritsar airport, Amritsar Junction station or your hotel near the Golden Temple.
Arriving in Dalhousie
