The run down to the railhead: past Gaggal airport, through Shahpur and Nurpur, where the ruined fort above the town is worth a glance, and out onto the plains at Pathankot. Give yourself at least an extra hour before an evening train, as the stretch near Nurpur can slow down behind trucks.
Pathankot has two stations, Pathankot Cantt and Pathankot Junction, and trains to Delhi, Jammu and Mumbai leave from both, so check your ticket. Pathankot airport has flights to Delhi too. For an early morning train we leave Dharamshala before dawn and carry breakfast.

We pick up from Gaggal (Kangra) airport, Dharamshala bus stand, McLeodganj or your hotel; pickups in Kangra town add about 30 minutes.
Arriving in Pathankot
Drops at Pathankot Cantt or Pathankot Junction for your train, or at the airport.
