Dharamshala to Delhi by road
| Distance | Driving time | Route |
|---|---|---|
| About 475 km | 10–11 hours | via Una, Ropar and Ambala |
We usually leave Dharamshala at 5 am, drive down through Kangra and Ranital to Una, cross into Punjab near Nangal and pick up the highway at Ropar for Ambala, Karnal and Delhi. Lunch is often at one of the big dhabas on the GT Road. Leaving early gets you into Delhi before the evening traffic, especially if you have a late flight from IGI.
This is the run most families book at the end of a Kangra holiday, often straight to IGI airport for an evening flight. For a morning flight we suggest a night in Chandigarh on the way. Kangra pickups and a last darshan at Chamunda can be fitted in before departure.
Pickup in Dharamshala
We pick up from Gaggal (Kangra) airport, Dharamshala bus stand, McLeodganj or your hotel; pickups in Kangra town add about 30 minutes.
Arriving in Delhi
We drop you at your door, IGI airport or any railway station in Delhi NCR.
