Shimla to Kasol by road
| Distance | Driving time | Route |
|---|---|---|
| About 240 km | 8 hours | via Bilaspur, Mandi and Bhuntar |
From Shimla we head to Bilaspur and Mandi, follow the Beas through the gorge to Bhuntar, then turn into the narrow Parvati valley road for the last 30 km to Kasol. That final stretch is slow and winding, so the Urbania’s smooth ride helps. Stop at Manikaran Sahib, 4 km past Kasol, for langar and the hot springs.
Kasol is popular with younger groups for treks to Kheerganga and Tosh, and with families for Manikaran Sahib. Camps along the valley usually need a short walk from the road. In heavy monsoon rain the Parvati road can close, so we check the status the day before.
Pickup in Shimla
We pick up from the ISBT at Tutikandi, Shimla railway station, Jubbarhatti airport or your hotel anywhere in town, Kufri or Mashobra.
Arriving in Kasol
We drop you in Kasol, at Manikaran or at camps along the Parvati valley road. Worth your time in Kasol: Manikaran Sahib, the walk to Chalal village, the Parvati river and Tosh, further up the valley.

A return trip covers about 480 km. Both ends are in Himachal, so our daily rental applies: ₹9,500 a day with up to 250 km. That fits in 2 days, about ₹19,000 with the driver, plus tolls.
